Sizing and Finished Measurements

  • Hen: Approximately 11.75 in (30 cm) high x 10.5 in (27 cm) long

  • Chick: Approximately 5.5 in (14 cm) high

Materials Needed

  • Yarn: Chunky textured/eyelash yarn and Double Knitting (DK) yarn of your choice (available in our yarn section)

  • Needles:

    • 1 pair of 5mm knitting needles (UK 6 / US 8) for the main chunky body

    • 1 pair of 3mm knitting needles (UK 11 / US 2.5) for the DK combs, wattles, and beaks

  • Accessories:

    • 14mm safety eyes (for the Hen)

    • 10mm safety eyes (for the Chick)

    • Washable toy stuffing

    • Tapestry needle for sewing seams and assembly

Yarn Requirements

Based on standard chunky textured yarn balls and DK oddments:

  • Hen:

    • Main Body Shade (Chunky textured): 2 balls (50g balls, or approx. 100g total)

    • Comb, Wattle & Beak Shades (DK): Small oddments of red and orange/gold

  • Chick:

    • Main Body Shade (Chunky textured): 1 ball (50g ball)

    • Comb, Wattle & Beak Shades (DK): Small oddments of red and orange/gold
